Sew In Weft extensions (often called “weaves”) are a semi-permanent extension application technique. The hair extensions come on wefts and are sewn into the hair on beads that lie flat to the scalp. The hair can be re-used for about a year (with proper care) and the installation, which takes about 45 minutes per row, needs to be re-done about every 6-8 weeks. Most people will add 1-3 rows of weft extensions depending on the thickness (density) and length desired.

The extensions are placed below the crown, making them virtually invisible. Unfortunately, extensions are not the answer to hair that is thinning on the crown.

We have chosen to align with Babe Extensions as they are a reputable manufacturer who sources hair ethically. Read more here:  Machine Sewn Weft | Babe Hair -CA (babehairextensions.ca)

Unethically sourced extensions are bought off the black-market, made with hair that is unlawfully taken (cut off someone without their permission) and sold for $$$. The cheap/unethically sourced extensions also use hair that is gathered from brushes, drains and the floor. The hair that is not collected straight from a human head is not good quality as the cuticle is often destroyed and the hair may be chemically treated. Ethically sourced (Remy) hair is collected mostly at Indian Temples. Boys in India grow their hair until they reach13 years of age, the hair is then cut at the temple in a “coming of age” ceremony and the temple sells the hair, earning money to provide resources for the community. Remy hair is healthy, virgin hair and has the cuticle intact.

Babe also uses gentle colouring methods to ensure the integrity of the hair is maintained.

Sew In Weft extensions are non-damaging to your natural hair, a GREAT money saver as they ae not bonded to the hair (the hair can be re-used) and a wonderful option for those who may just want to use extensions for special occasions, add some length as your hair grows through some awkward stages or add some volume if your hair is fine.
