JOY Hair Studio is the very first North Vancouver hair salon created with a purely philanthropic intent. Partial proceeds from all hair services are donated to various community initiatives and charities. We also support various private fundraising efforts to benefit local families in need. We take pride in having created a non pretentious, uplifting and comfortable environment where we do our very best to provide amazing service, connect and build long-term relationships with our clients. To all our valued guests of JOY,
We, Tara and Savannah, are so excited to announce that we are handing over the keys to JOY to a NEW OWNER on Sept 1 2026 (hence being closed in September for renovations).
During our 12 incredible years of pure JOY, our lives have gotten more full with the addition of families and children (some with special needs) and we both felt it was time to simplify our responsibilities.
We feel we have found the perfect person to assume the role of ownership, to take the reins and to make JOY (to be re-named) her passion project.
The new owner`s name is Jude. She is a seasoned mentor stylist based in North Vancouver.
Some of the team will move on to other salon locations as Jude comes with her own team of talented stylists.
We will shut down our website and online booking platform on Sept 1st, currently you cannot book appointments past Aug 31.
Savannah will remain on mat leave until June 2027 and will contact clients when she is ready to return to work.
Tara will still work at the JOY location on Mondays and at her *new* boutique home salon in Coquitlam. To make appointments with Tara from Sept forward, please call or text 604 314 4981.
Kim will move to a new salon. To book appointments with Kim from Sept forward please call or text 604 999 2714.
Esther is currently on holidays. We do not know yet where Esther will work, but are happy to get you in touch with her for future appointments as soon as we find out!
We will reach out to anyone with appointments booked with Kim and Esther from Sept forward with new location details.
For anyone with JOY gift certificates, please use these ASAP as they will not be valid after August 31st.
